It is not technical advice for a specific vessel and it does not replace the manufacturer's service manual, the governing regulation or the instructions of your class society or flag administration.

Regulatory references

Where we cite SOLAS, the FSS and LSA Codes, an IMO circular or resolution, or a class requirement, we cite the instrument as it stands at the date shown on the page. Regulation changes and flag administrations may apply stricter requirements than IMO. Always confirm the requirement that applies to your vessel and its flag before relying on anything written here.

Intervals and mobilisation times

Service intervals given on this website are the normal requirement for the equipment type. The interval that applies to a particular item depends on its make, age and the vessel's flag. Mobilisation times are indicative; the time that applies to a job is the one confirmed in writing in the quotation.

Approvals

We publish which class societies, flag administrations and manufacturers we hold approvals from, and what those approvals cover. We do not publish certificate files. Certificate copies are issued on request so that the version you hold is the current one. An approval covers only the scope stated on the certificate.
